'Ex nihilo nihil fit' :: 'Out of nothing/nothing is produced: nothing comes from nothing'.
Going against these ridiculous affirmations that we have arrived at a dead end - Nihil - in human history. Nothing else can be invented, everything has been done already. These always struck me as stupid ideas.
I have been developing ideas for this show for the past 2 years. It is an exhibition on the dark side of technology and the way society shapes and has been shaped by man-made devices.
Capitalism has brought us to this point. What has to end is not history, but modern capitalism itself. It is it that devoids our lives of meaning, as Henri Lefebvre wrote in the 60's and 70's.
It is it that has replaced rituals and the spiritual dimension of life. It is time for change.
