I would like to invite you to my performance 'Searching for Lost Time', next Saturday at the finissage of Echoing Dimensions in KUNSTRAUM Potsdamer Straße, Berlin.

The epic ‘In Search of Lost Time’ follows Marcel Proust’s recollections of childhood and experiences into adulthood in the late 19th-century and early 20th-century high-society France. His descriptions of spaces and sensory experiences appear to crystallize specific moments in time.

In fact, human memory is in general unreliable, and has been expressed as a reconstructive process that is susceptible to distortion. Memory is not a flawless recording of past events; it is subject to various errors, distortions, and inaccuracies.

In this performance, I will combine music and video in real-time. The sound is intertwined with a visual narrative built from fragments of memories that trace the last years of my path. This data is sampled from a large original audiovisual archive that has been under construction over more than ten years in different parts of the world.

The locations were chosen for different reasons: some are places of great natural beauty, others are dystopian territories. They all share a certain quality of unreality, mystery and deterritorialization. Music from my upcoming release will be performed, reworked specifically for this event.

The audience is invited for a contemplation on time, memory, life and death, thus participating in the weaving of a tapestry of personal and shared stories.

While walking on the ruins of empires, we must find hope for the future.
